Crib blankets as a popular gift for expecting mothers as they are an excellent way to personalise a crib and add a pop of colour or texture to your nursery. 

As families usually tend to work up quite a collection of crib blankets, they can also keep your child warm in their stroller, or as a large play mat. They can also be used as a lap blanket to keep warm during night time feeds in the winter.  

If you are using a crib blanket for a baby under one year old, it should always be tightly wrapped around the cot mattress like a fitted sheet for the baby to sleep on.  Young babies should never sleep under a blanket of any sort to reduce the risk of SIDS.  Once your child has reached toddler age, they can enjoy sleeping and snuggling under the blanket.
